Holiday camp for heart children and their siblings

1

Exciting days with lots of opportunity for adventure, fun, courage and reflection.

The holiday camp in Schladming is for the younger heart children and their siblings from 8-14 years, with the focus on adventure, games and fun (WITHOUT accompanying parents).

Here, at the Hotel Rohrmooserhof in Schladming, heart children and their siblings aged 8 to 14 years have the opportunity to get to know and accept themselves better and to learn how to better deal with their CHD or sibling situation on their own.

There is a great deal of psychological processing and reflection, combined with games and fun.

Here children have the opportunity to spend a few days together in a relaxed but also adventurous atmosphere.

The aim is to give heart children and their siblings new courage and strength to better process what they have experienced during the operations. Siblings also learn to better understand why they are often "alone" without parents when the parents have to be in hospital with the heart child.

Heart children also need to learn how to take medication. This is of course done under the supervision of medical staff. From experience, this is especially important in order to prepare for future project weeks in school.

A child can experience a lust for life despite a congenital heart defect.

An exciting accompanying programme is guaranteed during these adventure days with a rehabilitative character.
